Slot classes are limited-entry events in which contestants purchase a slot in the competition well ahead of time. These classes have become a popular feature on the halter and pleasure circuits. Owners purchase entries or “slots” well in advance of the show, and name the horse and rider later. The majority of slot classes are for maiden or novice horses. Combining this unknown competition with high stakes makes for a gamble, which also makes these classes a choice fit for the Paint Vegas class lineup.

APHA’s slot classes will be on sale from March 1-10. Slot classes will be limited to thirty entries. The names of the successful slot owners will be published by APHA once they are selected, and horse-and-exhibitor names will be required as the show date approaches.

The slot classes are only open to APHA Regular Registry horses. Eligibility requirements are in place for both the horse and exhibitor.
